Goolwa CFS (Country Fire Service) is a volunteer run fire and rescue brigade serving Goolwa, Hindmarsh Island, and the surrounding roads and countryside.

Goolwa CFS is a brigade in the Mundoo Group (Goolwa, Pt Elliot, Middleton, Currency Creek, Mt Compass) located in Region 1 of the SA Country Fire Service. (see also Wikipedia's CFS entry).

The Goolwa CFS brigade station is also the Group Base. When there are incidents involving 3 or more brigades from the group and possibly appliances from brigades outside of the Mundoo Group, Goolwa Station becomes Mundoo Base.

In the last financial year, Goolwa responded to 123 incidents, accounting for over 1000 man hours of work. An additional 2000+ man hours were volunteered for non-incident activities.

Training

We train every Monday from 7:00pm (except public holidays) usually for 2 hours.

To enquire about joining our brigade, just come along to the station around 6:45pm on a Monday training night to meet the Captain.

Cadets

Goolwa has in the past run a Cadet programme. Due to a lack of a Cadet Coordinator at Goolwa, we are referring cadet applicants to Currency Creek CFS.
